It really, really bothers me when shadchanim give bad advice, even with the best of intentions, because people usually take it. And I wish that those who give such advice would think longer and harder before giving it, because it has the potential to seriously mess with people's lives.

Yes, they are. Which is why I am bothered, but not to the point of hating them all.
Again, those in positions of power/influence over others' lives--I should add, not just shadchanim, but parents, teachers, etc.--ought to consider their words and actions more closely than those who are not in such positions. That's all I'm saying.
